Shutdown command

Here I'm Going to show how to shutdown your pc via command.

Syntax
shutdown [-i | -l | -s | -r | -a] [-f] [-m \\computername] [-t xx] [-c "comment"] [-d p:xx:yy]

shutdown Command

-i Display GUI interface, must be the first option

-l Log off (cannot be used with -m option)

-s Shutdown the computer

-r Shutdown and restart the computer

-a Abort a system shutdown

-m \\computername Remote computer to shutdown/restart/abort

-t xx Set timeout for shutdown to xx seconds

-c "comment" Shutdown comment (maximum of 127 characters)

-f Forces running applications to close without warning

-d [u][p]:xx:yy The reason code for the shutdown
u is the user code
p is a planned shutdown code
xx is the major reason code (positive integer less than 256)
yy is the minor reason code (positive integer less than 65536)

Example for shutdown.
1. Click Start>Run
2. Type shutdown -s -t 60
3. Click Ok.
Now a small pop-up window will appear on your screen.
That window intimate you that After 60 seconds your system will be shutdown automatically, please save all the working progress. See the below image.

If you want to terminate this process do the below steps.
1. Click Start>Run
2. Type shutdown -a
3. Click Ok
Pop-up window is disappear

If you want shutdown details in dos prompt do below steps.
1. Click Start>Run
2. Type CMD
3. Type shutdown /?
4. Press Enter
Now dos prompt listed like below
